Brief summary

The papers are submitted electronically through the STAM web server to the Editorial Office located at NIMS (Tsukuba, Japan). The Editorial Coordinators are well-established scientists. They perform initial evaluation of the submitted papers and further redirect them to the STAM Editors. Accepted papers are published by the Institute of Physics, first electronically (as soon as possible) and then in the printed issues. Full-text pdf articles can be downloaded at the IOP web site.

Clearly indicate who is to handle correspondence at all stages of review and publication, as well as after publication.
Ensure that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area codes) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address. Complete postal addresses must be given for all coauthors.
Please consult a recent issue of the journal for the preferred style, if possible.

Types of manuscript:

• Regular article
• Review article
  Unlimited number of pages in both cases.

Originality:

Submission of an article implies that the work, or its essential parts, has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis); that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication has been approved by all authors and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language, without the written consent of the Publisher.

Authors are encouraged to suggest potential reviewers whose expertise is suitable for reviewing the paper.
